Miniland Cars: Italy

Ferrari 250 GTO

Built in 2012
Some photos are taken at the LEGOLAND Billund

The Ferrari 250 GTO is one of the most expensive cars in the world. One of the last was once be sold for 35 Million dollars! I own two of them :) Here they are doing a parade in front of Amalienborg.
Blue does not seem to be a proper colour for a Ferrari, but in this case together with the yellow stripe it works great.
The 2x4 brick with curved top fall accidentially in my hands and it was perfect for the mudgards. Even if red and blue are some of the most common colors, there are not all necessary elements available in both colours. So there are still some differences within the models.

Ferrari 348 GTS

Built in 2010

The reason for me to start building cars in miniland scale: the Ferrari 348GTS. I've got a discussion with two friends in LEGOLAND Billund which kind of car this supposed to be. I was pretty sure that the park Designers wanted to build a Ferrari, but NOT a Testarossa.
At home I started to build my own Miniland scaled Ferrari Testarosse to prove them wrong. That was the beginnig of a my passion to building cars.
Here you can see the difference between a Ferrari Testarossa and a Ferrari 348GTS.

Rumors were saying that the park designers made a 348 because Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen onws one in real life. Well, he does not :)

Ferrari 458 Italia

Built in 2012
Photos taken at LEGOLAND Billund and LEGO World 2013 Copenhagen

A line of red and shiny Ferrari is passing "Nyhavn 17", one of Kopenhagen's most popular building.
The challenge on this car were the loads of air intakes and thin lines at any place all over the chassis. Many compromises had to be made, but at the end it is recognizable as a Ferrari 458.
After a long time of more, or less nice looking Ferraris, the 458 is absolutely fantastic. On a photo it looks good, but in real life, it's breath taking.

Ferrari 458 Spider

Built in 2012

The italia version of the Ferrari 458 is a beauty, no doubt. But the spider is just the perfect 10 out of 10.
The mechanism on the LEGO model is not 100% acurate to the real one, but at least it's working quite nice.
The best thing is, that it never rains in Brick-Valley. So there is no need to close the roof.

Ferrari 488 GTE

Built in 2020

The follow-up for the Ferrari 458. While the 458 comes with a naturally aspirated engine the 488 comes with a turbo charger to meet the emssions regulations. The sticker sheet of the three differents LEGO sets were most welcome for this moc of the GTE version.

Ferrari 365 GTS/4 "Daytona"

Built in 2013

Do you have "Crockett's Theme" from Jan Hammer in your ears? No? What's wrong with you? Where have you been in the 80's? This is Crockett's beloved Ferrari Daytona.
We all know that a re-bodies Corvette was used for the TV series, but this one is a real Ferrari. You can easily see the difference at the door handles ;)
The correct name is Ferrari 365 GTS/4 and this one looks great with the LeMas stripe, too.

Ferrari Dino 246

Built in 2011

I've got the permission to take some quite nice photos at a Ferrari Dealer's showroom. I guess, you won't get the chance to see a real Dino 246 at this place. Btw.: the Daytona in the background is not for sale.
Three generations: italy vs. germany. Which side would you prefer?
The first time, that I've used the new tile, round, 1x1. Quite nice element!

Ferrari Mondial 8

Built in 2020
Photos are taken of the Ihme Zentrum in Hannover

The Ferrari Mondial might not be the most beautiful one Ferrari ever made. While building this moc and spending some time with it I've learned to like the shape.
The building in the background is the Ihme Zentrum, a concrete sin of the 70s. A nice background for this model.

Ferrari Testarossa

Built in 2006
Some photos were taken at the LEGOLAND Günzburg

Here you can see my first attemp to build a car in Miniland scale. The dimensions of this Ferrari are completly wrong. After some updates the body is 3 studs shorter and has lost 1 plate of height.
Even if this Testarossa version looks not good enough, I've decied to use these pictures because they were taken at the Legoland in Günzburg.

Inspired by the 80's Computergame Outrun, I've build this Ferrari Testarossa driven by a guy with his beautiful long- and blond-haired girlfriend.
These images were taken in front of a small lake in front of the company's building I'm working for.
It's nearly as funny to build Figures in Miniland scale as building the cars. Could you feel the wind in her hair?
