Miniland Cars: Germany

BMW M1 "BASF"

Built in 2007

The 1980's BMW M1 Procar from the german driver Hans-Joachim Stuck.
The BMW kidney is too huge, I know. But with the 1x2 plates it's more recognizable.
I've tried to create the tape reel with bricks and plates and without using stickers.

Mercedes C111 Type I & II

Built in 2007

These Prototype cars were build in 1969 (Type I) and 1970 (Type II). Mercedes started some experiments with wankel rotary engines, wing doors and luxury interieur.
If there is one car where orange must be used for, then it is the Mercedes C111. A very popular color in the early 70's.
Mercedes build just 6 copies of each Type.

Opel Manta B

Built in 2020
Photos are taken in Wolsburg in front of the VW factory :)

The most popular Manta B is the one with the Mattig Bodykit which was used in the German movie "Manta Manta" with Til Schweiger and Tina Ruland. There is no colour scheme who screams 90s louder than this one.
A lime green Manta was driven by "New Kids". A dutch television series were this dubious reputation fits like a glove.
Third photo is showing the GSi with the old Opel colour scheme yellow and two shades of grey.
The Opel Manta had a dubious reputation in Germany. Their were a lot of jokes about their owners. At the end it was a nice rear wheel drive coupe.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Built in 2013
Attempto Racing, Langenhagen

A great racing car needs a decent background. And what would be more appropriate than a real racing car? Fortunately there is a quite succesful and even more friendly racing team near my home. The GT3 was intended as a simple copy of my existing "standard" 911. But then I've found some round plates and figured out that they'd be perfect for the front. It turned out that half of the car has to be build completely different to the first one. When those red hub cabs came out, it was quite obvious that they won't be used within many LEGO sets. When I've bought them, I had no idea what to do with them, because where should you need red wheels? The perfect answer is shown at this photo.

Porsche 959 "Paris - Dakar"

Built in 2006

My Porsche 959 is based on the Legoland Porsche 911. It was important for me to build it with details like the air-intake on the back mudgards. Unforunately there is a small gap behind the 1x1 technic brick wherefore I've got no idea to close it. The color pattern bases on the Rothman's Porsche which was used by the Rally Paris-Dakar. Porsche build middle of the 80's about 292 copies of this on 911 4x4 based high-tech car. Especially for driving through the desert the ground clearance was raised.

Porsche 959

Built in 2006

The street version of the Porsche 959. There are very slightly differences between the street and the rally version.

VW Iroc III

Built in 2009

VW Prototype IROC: What do you get, if you cut the first and the last two letters of "Scirocco"? Exactly! It could be so easy to get a proper name for a prototype.
The front was to close to the actual Audi look, I guess.
This is not just green, it's viper-green!

VW Scirocco III

Built in 2009

"Germany's next Top Model" was sponsored by the new VW Scirocco in 2008. White car, white factory building with white floor - nice!
The new Scirocco is not a supercar, or extremly iconic like most of my other creations. But a real one is parking in my garage :)
The front with the line of dark headlights and grill. The Scirocco looks good in most of the available colors. But in my opinion it's a sacrilege to make him black. The strong look is going totally lost.
