Miniland Cars: Porsche

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Built in 2013
Attempto Racing, Langenhagen

A great racing car needs a decent background. And what would be more appropriate than a real racing car? Fortunately there is a quite succesful and even more friendly racing team near my home. The GT3 was intended as a simple copy of my existing "standard" 911. But then I've found some round plates and figured out that they'd be perfect for the front. It turned out that half of the car has to be build completely different to the first one. When those red hub cabs came out, it was quite obvious that they won't be used within many LEGO sets. When I've bought them, I had no idea what to do with them, because where should you need red wheels? The perfect answer is shown at this photo.

Porsche 959 "Paris - Dakar"

Built in 2006

My Porsche 959 is based on the Legoland Porsche 911. It was important for me to build it with details like the air-intake on the back mudgards. Unforunately there is a small gap behind the 1x1 technic brick wherefore I've got no idea to close it. The color pattern bases on the Rothman's Porsche which was used by the Rally Paris-Dakar. Porsche build middle of the 80's about 292 copies of this on 911 4x4 based high-tech car. Especially for driving through the desert the ground clearance was raised.
